Casa Linda Forest is a neighborhood located in East Dallas and it’s comprised of five subdivisions: Casa Linda Forest, Linwood Park, Sherwood Glen Estates, Buckner Boulevard Estates, and West Glen Park.

The neighborhood is made up of approximately 400 homes, and today I asked one of my clients, Melody, to talk to us a little bit about her neighborhood and what makes it so special to the people who live there.

According to Melody, it’s an area that she stumbled upon but she’s glad she did. You can still get those ¾ acre lots that back up to a creek with mature trees and winding roads. It doesn’t really feel like you’re in the city, but all the amenities are close.

“I love this neighborhood and I think you will, too.”

The looks and styles of the neighborhood are pretty eclectic. Most of the homes were built in the 1970s, so the style of homes range from true-century modern, to cottage styles, to quaint, Cape Cod styles.

Some of Melody’s go-to spots include unique restaurants like Smokey Rose, 20 Feet, and the neighborhood bar, District 9. There’s also a ton of outdoor things to do including White Rock Lake. The Dallas Arboretum is right near Casa Linda Forest as well. During the spring, summer, and fall, they have outdoor concerts there that are great for a family night out or just a date night.

The Casa Linda Forest neighborhood association is very strong as well. They sponsor an annual Easter egg hunt, an annual night out event, and block parties. They really look out for each other, whether a dog is missing, a package is delivered to the wrong address, and much more.

I love this neighborhood and I think you will too. If you are interested in looking at a home in this neighborhood or you just have questions, don’t hesitate to give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
